Casablanca fyller 75 år

Den här dagen för 75 år sedan visades Casablanca för första gången. Ni vet, filmen där Ingrid Bergman säger "Play it once, Sam, for old time´s sake".

Förra månaden, den 20 oktober, spelade Kristian Saag i  P2-programmet Rendezvous "As time goes by". Varför inte söka upp det programmet nu på 75-årsdagen och sjunga med?  Här är texten:

This day and age we are living in

is past all comprehension

with speed and new invention

and things like third dimension

Yes, we get a trifle weary

with Mr Einstein´s theory

so we must get down to earth at times

we must relieve the tension

No matter what the progress

or what may have been proved

the simple facts of life are such

they cannot be removed

You must remember this

a kiss is still a kiss

the fundamental things apply

and when two lovers woe

they still say ”I love you”

On that you can rely

No matter what the future brings

Moonlight and lovesongs 
are never out of date

a world of passion, jealousy and hate

woman needs man

and man must have his mate

that no one can deny

It´s still the same old story,

a fight for love and glory

a case of do or die,

the world will always welcome lovers
